The Masterpiece

The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is a masterpiece. An expertly woven glimpse into the lives of two broken individuals dealing with the effects of a harsh childhood. Each deal with their pain in different ways but both searching for meaning and understanding. What gripped me was the knowledge that there are individuals like these two characters.
Throughout the story as the layers of the past are peeled back and we gain understanding as to what happened to bring them to the present, we see God working. He works through the lives of those who come and go, and some stay.
There are some surprising twist and wow moments that I didn’t see coming. But were so expertly crafted that they fit.
This story will stick with me for a long time to come. Be sure to have the tissue ready as this story will touch your heart in a profound way.
I listened to the audio book and enjoyed the narration. The narrator used voice inflection, accents, and cadence to differentiate the characters. The performance was top notch.
